Between February and September 1519, the abbess Giovanna Piacenza gave Correggio the vault of her private room in the monastery of San Paolo. The painter set a pergola between the ribs, pierced by ovals behind which smiling putti lean out: a whole room turned into a garden. Will a mural damage the wall?
