What exactly is a line drawing mural?

A drawing painted on the wall in fine, continuous lines with a liner brush: the outline of things, left open or with a few light flat areas. It reads like an ink sketch, at full scale. Giulia Dal Bon, a painter trained at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. What does the price of a mural include?

The price per square metre includes the paint and materials, the first two sketches, corrections during the work and the protective varnish as a finish. Added to the quote, when needed, are the scaffolding for a facade and travel costs, agreed together. The quote is free and arrives within 48 hours; a deposit of about 100 € for materials confirms the date, and the balance is settled at the end.

Which subjects work in line?

Silhouettes of people and animals, flowers and branches, the architecture of a city, a map, faces in profile, a couple or family scene, lettering. Line renders anything with a clear shape well. Giulia draws first on a sketch mounted on the photo of your wall, and you correct with her: two free sketches, adjusted with you.

Does a line mural with figures cost more?

The price follows the technique. A line drawing, even with ten figures, stays at the simple-motif rate, from 150 € per sqm. What would raise the price is moving to full colour, with shadows and volume. Many people choose line precisely to have a complete scene on a measured budget.

Can we add a touch of colour?

Yes: a flat tone on a dress, green foliage, an ochre sun. As long as colour stays an accent and the drawing carries the image, the line rate applies. Giulia shows you on the sketch the all-line version and the version with two or three colours, and you choose.

Is above the bed a good place for a line drawing?

It is a natural spot: the wall behind the headboard is seen every day, often with nothing in front of it, and a line drawing stays calm there. A scene for two, a beloved city, a branch running the width of the bed. Giulia fits the composition to the width of the bed and the height of the ceiling, on the photo of your bedroom.

Does the wall need to be perfectly smooth?

Ordinary plaster is enough. On a light textured finish the line comes alive a little, and that suits it; on very coarse render Giulia says so in the quote and proposes either local smoothing or a thicker line. She paints over the existing paint, after a simple dusting, and the wall stays as it is around the drawing.

How long does the work take over the room?

Line is the lightest technique: the room stays liveable during the work, in odourless acrylic colours, and is back in use the same evening. Giulia arrives with her brushes and a drop sheet, covers the floor and leaves the room clean. The exact duration is written in the quote, according to the surface and the density of the drawing.

Can we start from an image found online or generated by an AI?
