The three ways Giulia paints live
The painting made during the event
Giulia sets up her easel on site and paints through the celebration, for example during the cocktail hour, when guests can watch the canvas advance. The painting is finished on site or in the studio, depending on the size. It is the format chosen for weddings and large events. From 950 € for the wedding painting, made on site and handed over that evening, from 1,800 € for a large format or a full day.
The short performance, set to music
A live performance during a concert, on a stage, at an opening or a party, for as long as you like. Giulia paints standing, in motion, to the rhythm of the music, and the canvas is revealed to the audience at the end. It is the format for music events and stages. From 400 €, and from 900 € for the canvas of a company evening.
The portrait painted after the event
The painting is made in the studio from photographs, and the day itself stays free of any set-up. It is the format for couples already married, or for a more measured budget. A painting made from your photos after the event is ordered from the portrait from a photo page, from 90 €. The first two sketches are free, you tell her what you think and she adjusts, as with all her work.
How it unfolds, hour by hour
Giulia arrives early to set up, in the room or on the stage. At a wedding she paints during the cocktail hour: guests are circulating, the light is good and the canvas can advance in front of them. At a concert or a show she paints during the music, from the first note of the piece or the set to the last. At a company evening, at the moment chosen with you, the drinks reception for example.
The composition depends on the format. For a wedding, Giulia prepares it beforehand from your photographs and from the venue: the painting is decided before the day, and you know what you will get. For a show, she lets the music lead and paints what comes. You choose one or the other, and it is written in the quote.
The length is also decided with you: twenty minutes during one piece, an hour during the cocktail, a whole evening, or several days for an event that runs longer. A painting of a standard size is finished on site and comes back to you the same evening; on a large format, Giulia completes the final touches in the studio and the work is delivered after a few days for the varnish to dry, on the date written in the quote.
On site she needs a space of roughly two by two metres, a power socket, and light if she paints in the evening. She comes with her easel, canvases, acrylics and brushes, and protects the floor around her; outdoors, a sheltered spot in case of rain is enough.
If you are after a theatrical effect, Giulia can paint the canvas upside down and turn it round only at the end: your guests follow her hand, and the subject appears all at once as the canvas is flipped. It is a moment the room photographs, and it is planned at the quote stage.

Do you also come to small villages?
Yes. The towns named on this site are simply the ones that have a page, and Giulia paints everywhere else just as gladly: a hamlet in Piedmont, a village in the Var, a farmhouse in Tuscany, an estate an hour from the nearest airport. Give the name of the place and the date: the answer comes within 48 hours, and travel is agreed together in the quote.
Where has Giulia already painted live?
On stages, in theatres, at weddings and at company evenings: she has painted live hundreds of times, dozens of them with the piano and painting show she performs as a duo. Two of those dates are public: at the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, for Play Green, she painted alongside the illustrator Francesco Barcella, on a reclaimed wooden panel supplied by the Di Nuovo craftsmen. And on 6 July 2017, in Camaiore, for the fourteenth Festival Gaber, she painted under the Arco di Via Vittorio Emanuele beside the guitarist Gianni Martini. Does the price include the canvas and the paints?

Can the painting be bought after a performance?
At a commissioned wedding or event, the painting is yours: it is included in the price. At a stage performance where the work is born free, the painting made during the show is often bought the same evening by someone in the room. Write to Giulia to know which works are available.
How far ahead should I book?
For a wedding, allow several months: June, July and September dates go first, they are the three peak wedding months. For a concert or a corporate evening, a few weeks are often enough. If your date is close, ask anyway: a slot sometimes opens. The available dates are in the quote, sent within 48 hours.
