A photo of the wall with the sketch
Send me a photo of the wall and I draw a sketch straight onto your photo. You tell me what you think. The first two sketches are included.
The quote
Once the sketch is approved, I send you the quote and we set the date together.
I paint the wall
I come and paint at your property, with a brush, and the place stays open while I work.
One identity, several addresses
A hotel group has a problem printed schemes handle badly: keeping one hand across the collection while giving each address what is unique to it. A hand-painted mural does exactly that. Giulia keeps the same hand, the same palette, the same way of treating a motif, and changes the subject in every city: lemons in Menton, the lagoon in Venice, olive trees in Provence, the mountains in Chamonix.
The walls that come up most: the headboard wall of a room, painted in a day and transforming the listing photo; the lobby wall, the one you see on the way in; the floor corridor, often long and bare; the breakfast room and the restaurant; the spa, where a calm scheme changes the treatment; the stairwell; and outside the terrace or patio front, painted in quartz paint with anti-salt varnish by the sea.
A painted room gets photographed, and the photo then works for the hotel: it is the image guests post and the platforms put forward.
The hotel stays open
Giulia paints in odourless acrylic: the room next door is let, the lobby stays walked through, the restaurant serves. She protects the floor and the furniture around her, works section by section and leaves the area clean each evening. On a floor under refurbishment she moves room by room, at the pace you set; in low season she takes several rooms in a row.
As a finish she applies a protective varnish: the wall wipes clean with a damp sponge and the paint stays intact, which matters behind a headboard, in a corridor full of suitcases or in a dining room. The mural lasts a lifetime.
The work is a show for your guests. They take the time to look, admire, photograph. A hotel that has a wall painted live has something to tell for the whole of the works, and the images keep working long afterwards.
One quote per property
Giulia quotes each hotel separately, with an itemised quote and an invoice made out to each operating company or to the parent, as you prefer. She replies within 48 hours and travels across seventeen European countries.

Gladly, and it fits easily into a refurbishment. Giulia starts from your mood boards, the palette of the scheme and the materials chosen, then proposes a sketch drawn onto the photo of the wall. She deals with the studio directly, in Italian, French, English or Spanish, and the quote is itemised line by line so it fits the decoration package.
Who paints the mural?
Giulia Dal Bon, a painter trained at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, where she also studied restoration. She exhibits her paintings in art galleries and paints murals in seventeen European countries. Corriere della Sera, La Repubblica, Domus and Sky Arte have written about her work, and her mural of more than twenty metres dedicated to Gaber and Jannacci can be seen in Milan. She paints with a brush, layer after layer, and signs the work if you wish.
What paint is used, and how long does it last?
Indoors, odourless acrylic colour: the place stays open for the whole of the work. Outdoors, quartz paint, made for façades, with anti-salt varnish by the sea and anti-pollution varnish in the city. As a finish Giulia applies a protective varnish: the mural lasts a lifetime, and the wall wipes clean with a damp sponge, leaving the paint intact.
