I come and paint in your department, with a brush, and the place stays open while I work.
The walls of a place of care
In a ward, the ceiling is the wall. A patient lying down looks up, often for a long time: a sky, leaves seen from below, birds, a glass roof painted in trompe-l’oeil transform an examination room, a trolley corridor or an imaging suite. That is the 350 € per sqm level, because the perspective is built from the exact position of the gaze.
In paediatrics the corridor and the play area take subjects a child can follow: animals, a forest, a seabed, a sky. A frieze at trolley height gives something to follow on the way to theatre.
In a waiting room, a dental practice, a physiotherapist’s or a vet’s, the mural takes the wall opposite, the one you look at while seated: a landscape from the region, a botanical motif, a false window where the wall is blind. In an entrance hall it gives the place a first image of its own.
The department stays open

She protects the floor, works section by section, leaves the area clean each evening, and fits the hours you set: early morning, end of the day, a weekend, or a planned closure.

The quote starts from the wall and the technique: 150 € per sqm for a line drawing, 250 € for a fully painted subject, 350 € for a trompe-l’oeil or a ceiling. Who commissions it, and from which budget
The request comes from the ward manager, the clinical lead, the management of a private clinic, the estates team, or the practitioner in the case of a consulting room. In a hospital, a paediatric mural is often funded by a charity, a parents’ association or a local donor: the itemised quote then serves as the application.

Who paints the mural?
Giulia Dal Bon, a painter trained at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, where she also studied restoration. She exhibits her paintings in art galleries and paints murals in seventeen European countries. Corriere della Sera, La Repubblica, Domus and Sky Arte have written about her work, and her mural of more than twenty metres dedicated to Gaber and Jannacci can be seen in Milan. She paints with a brush, layer after layer, and signs the work if you wish.
What paint is used, and how long does it last?
Indoors, odourless acrylic colour: the place stays open for the whole of the work. Outdoors, quartz paint, made for façades, with anti-salt varnish by the sea and anti-pollution varnish in the city. As a finish Giulia applies a protective varnish: the mural lasts a lifetime, and the wall wipes clean with a damp sponge, leaving the paint intact.

To seventeen countries across Europe, from big cities to small villages. She comes to see the wall, or works from your photos and measurements when everything starts at a distance.
