What you offer your couples

The wedding painting. Giulia sets up at the edge of the party and paints the scene through the drinks reception and the meal: the venue, the couple, the guests, the light of the day. The painting is signed and goes home with them the same evening. From 950 €, in 40×60, 60×80, 70×100 or 80×120.

Watercolour portraits of the guests. Alone, as a couple or as a family: each person leaves with their own, and everyone can have a turn. It fills the cocktail hour and sends people home with a gift.

The canvas the guests sign. Giulia paints the estate or the scene, and every guest comes to write a word on it. The couple goes home with a painted guest book, dated, ready to hang.

The piano and painting show. Orlando plays a neoclassical repertoire, Giulia paints to the music, and the canvas is revealed on the last note: a stage moment in the middle of the evening. Quote on request.

She also draws the invitation, the menu and the table plan by hand, from 300 €.

What it changes in your running order

Giulia prepares the drawing of the venue before she arrives, from your photos and the plan of the day. On the day she paints instead of looking for her framing, and the canvas moves fast from the drinks reception onwards.

She asks for very little room: a square of about two metres by two, a power socket, and light on the canvas. She brings her easel, her canvases and her colours, sets up in about half an hour, and the acrylic she uses is odourless, so she can stay in the room during dinner. Outdoors she settles in the shade and out of the wind: simply tell her where you would like her placed.

The length is decided with you and fits your timings: an hour through the cocktail, the whole afternoon, or through to dessert. The reveal is placed at the moment you choose, often just before the cake or the first dance. For a very large format the finishing is sometimes completed in the studio, and the painting then travels to the couple.

She speaks Italian, French, English and Spanish: at an international wedding she talks to the guests directly.

Working together across a season

Giulia works gladly with the same agency across several dates in a year: a season, a venue, a region. The format is set once and then repeats. The quote is itemised line by line so it fits a wedding budget, and the invoice goes to the agency or to the couple, as you prefer.

She travels across seventeen European countries and replies within 48 hours: send the date, the venue, the number of guests and the running order, and she will tell you straight away what she can do.

Your questions, before you book

How do I book live painting for a wedding?

Write to Giulia Dal Bon on WhatsApp or by email with the date, the venue, the number of guests and the running order of the day: she replies within 48 hours. You choose the format and the canvas size together, she sends an itemised quote, and the invoice goes to the agency or to the couple. A deposit confirms the date.

How much room does she need?

A square of about two metres by two, with a power socket and light on the canvas. Giulia brings her easel, her canvases and her colours, and sets up in about half an hour. Indoors, odourless acrylic lets her stay through dinner; outdoors she settles in the shade and out of the wind, wherever you place her.

When does the couple take the painting home?

The same evening. The painting is made during the reception, in front of the guests, it is signed and it goes home on their wedding day, ready to hang. For a very large format the finishing is sometimes completed in the studio and the painting then travels to them.

Where does live painting sit in the running order?

Usually at the drinks reception: the canvas starts through the cocktail, grows through the meal, and the reveal is placed just before the cake or the first dance. The length is decided with you, from an hour to a full day, and Giulia prepares the drawing of the venue beforehand so she is ready from the first guest.

How much does wedding live painting cost?

From 950 € for the painting made live during the reception, signed and handed over the same evening, in 40×60, 60×80, 70×100 or 80×120. From 1,200 € for watercolour portraits of the guests. From 2,400 € for a large format or a full day. The piano and painting show is quoted on request, and a hand-drawn invitation starts at 300 €.

What if it rains, or the ceremony runs late?

Giulia sets up wherever you tell her, indoors or out, and moves in a few minutes if the weather turns. A change of timing is easy to absorb: she places the reveal of the canvas at the moment you choose on the day. The running order stays in your hands.

Do you work with the same agency across several weddings?

Gladly, and it is the most comfortable way for everyone: a season, a venue, a region. The format is set once and then repeats. Giulia travels across seventeen European countries and speaks Italian, French, English and Spanish, which counts at an international wedding.

Who is the painter who works live?

Giulia Dal Bon, a painter trained at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. She exhibits her paintings in art galleries, paints murals in seventeen countries and speaks Italian, French, English and Spanish. She has painted live hundreds of times, on stages, in theatres, at weddings and at company evenings, dozens of them with the piano and painting show she performs as a duo. Two of those dates are public: at the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, for Play Green, and on 6 July 2017 at the Gaber Festival in Camaiore, alongside the guitarist Gianni Martini.
