What Giulia can offer for your evening
Tell her what you are looking for, she suggests one option or several, and the evening is built with you.
During the evening
The large canvas, and the guests’ handwriting: Giulia paints the venue that hosts you during the evening, and your guests come and write what they like on it. It is a painted, dated guest book that stays on your wall. From 900 €.
Watercolour portraits of the guests: Giulia sketches them one by one, alone, in pairs or by team, and each person goes home with their own. From 1 200 €.
The canvas painted by your teams: each team paints one part, Giulia links the pieces and holds the composition, and the whole ends up as a single image on your wall. It is the seminar format. From 900 €.
The logo, the product or the winner’s name, painted by hand: Giulia also studied graphic design at the Brera Academy, and she draws the lettering by hand in the colours of the house. A winner’s name can be painted in front of the room and handed over on stage. Included in the canvas of the evening, from 900 €.
The piano and painting show: the piano and the brush move forward together until the last note, and the canvas is uncovered at the end. For a piece of theatre Giulia can paint it upside down and turn it round in front of the room. Quoted on request.
Before and after
The poster for the evening, painted by hand: the invitation, the poster or the programme, painted by hand, then laid out and delivered print-ready. Giulia signed the poster for the 83rd Open d’Italia. From 700 €.
A mural in your offices: once the evening is over, the painting can carry on along a wall, at reception or in a meeting room. With a brush, in odourless acrylic, and the place stays open while she works. From 150 € per sqm.
What a live painting brings to an evening in Lisbon
Lisbon has become the leading congress city in Europe, and closing evenings follow one another along the Tagus. A painter at work gives the room somewhere to come back to: guests take the time to watch, they admire, they take photographs, and the canvas moves forward in front of them until dessert.
Giulia paints the river and the rooftops of Alfama, the room that hosts you, the brand motif, or an azulejo redrawn in the colours of the house. The signed canvas stays with the company, dated from that night.
In practice, for a company in Lisbon
Send the date, the venue and the number of guests: Giulia replies within 48 hours with a free quote, itemised line by line so it goes straight into a budget, and an invoice in the company name. Two complimentary sketches go out before the evening, so the management or the agency can approve the subject.
She speaks Italian, French, English and Spanish, and the planning happens in your agency’s language. Lisbon fills its rooms with guests from all over Europe and the Americas: the painting, for its part, reads in every language.
Event venues in Lisbon
Giulia travels to the city’s event venues: the Centro de Congressos de Lisboa, twenty-nine thousand square metres, five pavilions, eight auditoriums, six foyers and thirty-four meeting rooms, with a restaurant seating four hundred; the Altice Arena at the Parque das Nações, twenty thousand seats, its Sala Tejo and its business centre of eleven rooms around a six-hundred-square-metre open space; the Pátio da Galé, under the arcades of the Praça do Comércio, six hundred people seated and up to one thousand one hundred with the cloisters; and, on the coast, the Centro de Congressos do Estoril, opened in 2001 facing the sea, beside the Casino Estoril.
She also travels to Oeiras, Cascais, Estoril, Sintra, Almada, Setúbal, Palmela, Loures, Amadora, Odivelas, Ericeira and Óbidos.
Your questions, before booking
Can Giulia paint outdoors, on a terrace above the Tagus?
Yes, and the late afternoon light there is beautiful. She needs a square of about two metres by two, a power socket and an easel set out of the wind. Acrylic dries quickly, so the canvas leaves the same evening, signed. From 900 €.
Can the guests sign the canvas?
Yes. Giulia paints the large canvas during the evening — the venue that hosts you or your brand motif — and your guests come and write a word, a name, a signature. The company keeps a painted guest book, with the date of the evening on it. Giulia holds the composition, so the painting reads at a glance. From 900 €.
Can she paint the brand as an azulejo?
Yes. Giulia draws an azulejo motif by hand in the colours of the house, on canvas or on a panel, and the lettering is laid out like a page: she also studied graphic design at the Brera Academy. The motif is approved beforehand on the two complimentary sketches, and it can then be used at reception or on your own material.
How much does live painting cost for a company evening?
From €900 for a live performance, and the length is decided with you: twenty minutes during a speech, an hour at the drinks reception, or the whole evening. Portraits of your guests, sketched during the evening, start at €1,200. A large format or a full day starts at €2,400. Giulia Dal Bon sends a free quote within 48 hours, itemised line by line so it slots into a budget, with an invoice made out to the company.
What exactly does the company receive?
The canvas, signed, handed over the same evening, and the invoice made out to the company, itemised line by line. If you wish, Giulia also paints the company name or logo into the composition.
What happens to the painting after the evening?
It stays with the company. Many hang it in reception or in a meeting room: it is the trace of the evening, and everyone who was there recognises it. It can also be given to a departing director, handed to a client, auctioned for a charity, or drawn among the guests. Giulia signs it if you wish.
Can the logo or the brand colours go into the painting?
Yes. Giulia also studied graphic design at the Brera Academy: she draws the lettering by hand and builds the canvas around the company’s colours. The logo can appear painted, or stay out and let the palette speak. It is decided beforehand, on the two complimentary sketches, with your management or your agency.
Can the team take part?
Yes, and it works well at a seminar: everyone adds a brushstroke, or each team paints a section that Giulia then ties together. She keeps hold of the composition so the result stands up. Tell her how many people and how much time you have, and she adapts.
What does Giulia need on site?
A square of about two metres by two, a power socket and some light. She arrives with her easel, her canvases and her paints, protects the floor around her and leaves with her own equipment. The acrylic she uses dries fast, so the canvas leaves the same evening.
Where has Giulia already painted live?
At the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, for Play Green, she painted live alongside the illustrator Francesco Barcella, on a reclaimed wooden panel supplied by the Di Nuovo craftsmen. And on 6 July 2017, in Camaiore, for the fourteenth Festival Gaber, she painted under the Arco di Via Vittorio Emanuele beside the guitarist Gianni Martini. The links are on the Press page.
