Where has Giulia already painted live?

On stages, in theatres, at weddings and at company evenings: she has painted live hundreds of times, dozens of them with the piano and painting show she performs as a duo. Two of those dates are public: at the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, for Play Green, she painted alongside the illustrator Francesco Barcella, on a reclaimed wooden panel supplied by the Di Nuovo craftsmen. And on 6 July 2017, in Camaiore, for the fourteenth Festival Gaber, she painted under the Arco di Via Vittorio Emanuele beside the guitarist Gianni Martini. How much does a live wedding painting cost?

From 950 €, Giulia Dal Bon paints a canvas during the wedding, made on site, work handed over. From 1,800 € for a large format or a full day. A painting made from your photos after the event is ordered from the portrait from a photo page, from 90 €. The canvas, stretcher and paints are included.

Does the price include the canvas and the paints?

Yes. The canvas, the stretcher, the acrylics, the brushes and the easel are included, and Giulia brings all her own equipment on the day. The first two sketches are free, you tell her what you think and she adjusts. Travel and logistics are agreed together and priced separately in the quote, depending on the place and the duration.

Is a deposit required?

A deposit holds the date, and the balance is settled at the end, together. That is the counterpart of a day blocked out: on a confirmed date, Giulia turns down other requests. The amount and the terms are written into the quote before you confirm, and you confirm when you are ready.

Can it be given as a gift to a couple?

Yes, and it is a gift often given by several people together. You book the date and the format, and the couple chooses the moment shown with Giulia. All it takes is a known date and a venue that has been told. Write to Giulia, the quote goes out within 48 hours.

Do you travel abroad?

Yes. Giulia travels across seventeen European countries and goes to the wedding destinations: Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast, Lake Como, the French Riviera, Provence, Portofino and Liguria. She speaks Italian, French, English and Spanish fluently. Travel and logistics are agreed together and priced in the quote.

How far ahead should we book?

Several months, for a wedding. June, July and September are the three peak wedding months and their Saturdays go first. If your date is close, ask anyway: a slot sometimes opens. The dates still open are in the quote, sent within 48 hours.

What if we are already married?

Giulia paints the work in the studio from your photographs, from 90 €, on the portrait from a photo page. You choose the photo or the scene, she prepares a sketch, you approve it, she paints. The first two sketches are free, you tell her what you think and she adjusts. It is the same painting, made calmly, from what you already have.

What if it rains on the wedding day?

Giulia paints indoors as happily as outdoors. A corner of the reception room, a veranda or a covered terrace is enough: the easel needs about two metres by two and a point of light. Plan B is agreed with you and the venue at quote time, and the switch takes a few minutes on the day itself. Canvas and acrylic cope very well with the damp air of a summer storm.

How many people can appear in the painting?

The moment you choose decides the number: a first dance puts the couple at the centre with guests in the background, a cocktail hour can gather dozens of figures. On a 70×100 cm canvas, the people in the foreground keep a recognisable face: count on about ten clear portraits, with a lively crowd behind. Giulia settles the composition with you before the big day, from the first sketches.

Does live painting work for a wedding of thirty guests?

Yes, and the intimate format suits it beautifully: everyone watches the canvas advance up close, chats with Giulia while she paints, finds themselves in the picture. The price stays the same, from 950 €, because it depends on painting time rather than guest numbers. For a family lunch as for a big evening, the canvas becomes the shared memento of the day.

Can we see examples before booking?

The portfolio shows Giulia at the easel, mid-performance in front of the audience, and canvases in progress. On request she sends examples of finished paintings and portraits painted live, with format and painting time. And for your own painting, the first two sketches are free: you see the proposed composition before you confirm the booking.
