Why does a painter love Lake Garda?
For Isola del Garda, first of all: a Venetian neo-Gothic villa built between 1893 and 1903 by the architect Luigi Rovelli, with pointed-arch windows and a tower crowned with lace-like stone crenellations, in the middle of the lake. The Duke of Genoa had bought it in 1869 and laid out the park; today it belongs to the Cavazza family, who have opened it to visitors since 2002.
