A photo and rough measurements are enough. Tell me the city, the type of space, and whether the wall is indoors or outdoors.
I send you a digital sketch over the photo of your wall, with a detailed quote. The first two sketches are free, and corrections are included.
From €150 per m² for a simple motif, more for very detailed work. We set the date together.
The questions that come up most often.
Giulia Dal Bon, a painter trained at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. She paints murals by brush in homes, bedrooms, bathrooms, on terraces, pool walls and facades, and travels in Alicante as she does across Europe. Send her a photo of the wall, its approximate dimensions and your idea, however loose: she replies within 48 hours with a quote and a first proposal. The first two sketches are free.
Always. You receive a sketch set on a photo of your own wall, to scale, together with the quote. The first two sketches are free and revisions are included: Giulia shows the work in progress so you adjust it together, during the project rather than at the end. You confirm when you are ready.
The paint goes onto the plaster already in place. In most cases a dusting down is all that is needed before starting. If the surface has cracks or rising damp, Giulia points it out before quoting and proposes the preparation required. Indoors she uses an odourless acrylic: a child’s bedroom in use or a restaurant that stays open can both be painted. An acrylic mural can later be painted over like any wall paint, if you change your mind in ten years.
All year round indoors, and from spring to autumn outdoors in most regions. Giulia sets the date with you when she quotes, within 48 hours, and gives plenty of notice if the schedule moves.
In January 1976 Eusebio Sempere, born in Onil in 1923, announced that he was giving his 20th-century art collection to the city of Alicante. The museum opened on 5 November 1977 in the Casa de la Asegurada, a 1685 building erected as a grain store and the oldest civil building in the city: 177 works in a baroque warehouse. Since 2011, after an expansion from 720 to 4,700 m², it has been the MACA. Requests come from city-centre apartments, houses in Santa Cruz, hotels and venues looking for a distinctive feature. Giulia travels easily to Alicante to paint: she comes to see the wall in person, or works first from photos and measurements.
What Giulia brings to Alicante. Alicante received its art collection as a gift, from an artist born in the province, and placed it in the city's oldest building. Giulia paints with a brush and made to measure, with the colour and life that mark her work. She loves what the artists here have done, and builds each project with the person who entrusts it to her. Giulia is a painter, trained at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. She exhibits her paintings in art galleries and also paints on walls. Corriere della Sera, Domus and Sky Arte have written about her work, and her mural of over twenty metres dedicated to Gaber and Jannacci can be seen in Milan. The wall is her favourite canvas because it truly becomes part of a place, a unique work made to tell your story.

The quote depends on several factors: the surface to paint, how detailed the subject is, indoor or outdoor, the condition of the wall, the height and any scaffolding needed, plus the requested timeline.

Surfaces: interior wall, exterior facade, ceiling, hallway, entrance, bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, storefront, movable panel.
Venues: apartment, hotel, boutique.
Neighbourhoods: Casco Antiguo, Santa Cruz, Benalúa, Playa de San Juan, Albufereta.
Possible subjects: floral and botanical motifs, sky ceiling, perspective trompe l'oeil, classical motifs, figures, reproduction of an artwork.
Mural, wall mural, hand-painted mural, wall painting, wall art, mural decoration, decorative painting, trompe l'oeil, hand-painted wall, painted feature wall, a painting made directly on the wall: these are different names for the same work in Alicante. People search for this as a mural artist, a muralist, a wall artist or a decorative painter. Giulia paints with a brush, in odourless acrylic indoors and quartz paint outdoors.
The MACA, opened on 5 November 1977 in the 1685 Casa de la Asegurada, holds the 177 works Eusebio Sempere gave to the city.

The rate is per square metre: €150 for a simple motif, €250 for a detailed subject, €350 for a trompe l'oeil or ceiling. The quote is free : see all prices.
In city-centre apartments or Santa Cruz houses, an interior mural stands out because it is painted with a brush and made to measure. Everything is painted in odourless acrylic.
They are two different crafts. A graffiti artist works with spray cans, with a fast gesture and a graphic finish. A brush-painted mural is built layer by layer, which allows gradients, fine detail and trompe l’oeil: it is a painting made directly on the wall. Indoors, Giulia uses odourless acrylic. And while she paints, people take the time to watch: a brush at work is a show in itself. The choice depends on the finish you are after.
A mural artist, a muralist, a wall artist or a decorative painter — and the art itself is called mural painting or wall art. Some come from graffiti and work with spray cans; Giulia Dal Bon comes from painting: trained at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, she exhibits her paintings in art galleries and paints commissioned murals with a brush. To have one painted, send her a photo of your wall: free quote within 48 hours.
Yes, with surface preparation and quartz paint, made for outdoor walls. In Alicante the sun is strong and near the sea the air is salty: an anti-salt varnish is added on request. The best period runs from spring to autumn.
For an interior wall, no. For a facade visible from the street, you generally need the owner's or building association's agreement, and a notice to the municipality if the building sits in a protected zone, as in the historic centre. Giulia explains the process before starting.
It depends on the surface and the level of detail: a simple motif in a bedroom takes a few days, a large composition or a facade longer. Giulia gives the timing with the quote, within 48 hours, and gives plenty of notice if the schedule moves. The place keeps running while she works: the acrylic is odourless.
An acrylic mural lasts for decades indoors: the paint becomes part of the plaster and lives as long as the wall. Outdoors, quartz paint is made for facades, and an anti-salt or anti-pollution varnish extends it further. And if one day you want a change, it can be painted over like any wall paint.
