Does the price rise with the number of people?

The price follows the size, and the size alone. One person or five on the same canvas is the same rate: from 90 € on A4 paper, from 180 € on a 30×40 cm canvas, 240 € for 40×50 cm, 320 € for 50×70 cm.

How does the composition work?

You send all the useful photos, saying who is who. Giulia answers within 48 hours, then proposes two complimentary sketches that set the overall arrangement. You approve, or ask to move someone, change a background, bring two people closer. Once agreed, you pay half and she paints while showing the progress, which still leaves room for adjustments.

Do the photos need to be the same quality for everyone?

That is precisely the point of a painting: a recent colour photo and an old black-and-white print can sit on the same canvas, because Giulia repaints everything in a single light. Send what you have, however uneven. She will tell you within 48 hours what she can draw from each image, and flag it before starting.

How does a painted picture differ from a montage made by an app?

An AI montage is a file, free and instant, that pastes a face onto a scene. A painting is an object, made by hand by an artist trained at Brera, where every person is repainted in the same light, at the same scale, with the right proportions. It hangs, it is handed down. Giulia shows you the composition on the sketch before painting.

Can someone living and someone who has died be together on the same painting?

Yes. A grandparent gone before the youngest was born, a father missing from a wedding photo: Giulia composes from photos taken at different times and harmonises the whole. Tell her who is who, what each liked to wear, and she proposes a complimentary sketch.

Can people photographed separately be brought together in one painting?

Yes, and that is exactly what painting knows how to do. Giulia composes a single scene from several photos, taken at different moments, in different places, sometimes decades apart. She harmonises light, scale and colour so the whole holds as a real image. The complimentary sketch shows you the composition before a single brushstroke.

How is it different from a photo montage?

A montage pretends a scene took place, and the eye always ends up seeing the cut. A painting owns up to being a work of art: it has the right to bring people together. The brushstroke stays visible, the hand shows, and that is precisely what makes the painting believable where the montage rings false. Since automatic montages have multiplied, the difference has become plain to see.

Can a grandparent who died before the child was born be in the painting?

It is one of the most beautiful things a painting can do. Giulia paints the person from the photos you have, at the age you choose, and places them beside the child as if they had posed together. You decide everything on the sketch: who stands where, who looks at whom, how close they are. The painting closes the circle that life had left open.

How many people can be included?

As many as the size allows. On a 40×50 cm, three or four faces keep a real presence; on a 50×70 cm, a whole family fits comfortably. Giulia says so frankly on the sketch: if the composition breathes better larger, she tells you before painting, while everything can still change.
