Who paints the gift painting?

Giulia Dal Bon, a painter trained at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. She exhibits her paintings in art galleries, paints by brush, on canvas or on paper, from your photos, and ships the painting anywhere in Europe, carefully packed. Will the painting arrive in time?

Give the date in your first message: Giulia organises the calendar around it, and the real lead time is written in the quote. She gives plenty of warning if anything moves. For a last-minute gift, the voucher saves the day: it is given immediately, and the painting is made afterwards, at the pace the person chooses.

Why give a painting rather than an object?

Because it is a gift that looks at the person: their face, their children, their dog, their house. An object gets replaced; a painted portrait is kept and handed down. It is also a rare gift: everyone has photos, hardly anyone has a painting. And it ages in reverse: the more years pass, the more sentimental value it gains.

How do I organise the surprise?

You quietly gather a few photos, from family or from the person’s social media, and send them to Giulia with the occasion and the date. She replies within 48 hours, offers the two complimentary sketches, paints, then sends you photos of the finished painting before shipping. The parcel arrives at your place or directly at theirs, as you prefer, in time for the big day.

What if I would rather let them choose?

The gift voucher is made for that: you give the painting, and the person then chooses their photo, size and support directly with Giulia. It is the right option when you want to be sure of the subject, or to give a portrait to someone you know less well, in-laws, a departing colleague. The voucher amount follows the chosen size, from 90 €.

For which occasions does a painting hit home?

A milestone birthday, a wedding or a silver anniversary, a birth, a christening, a retirement, a farewell, Christmas, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day alike. And the occasions off the calendar: thanking someone, making amends, telling your parents the childhood home still matters.
