Menton is where Giulia holds her workshops. The light comes from the east in the morning, the old town climbs in ochre and pink above the sea, and the gardens of the Serre de la Madone and the Val Rahmeh keep plants found nowhere else on this coast. In a workshop I start from that: a lemon, a shutter, a corner of a garden, whatever is in front of us that day.
